I am certainly one of those girls who dreamed about her wedding day for a very long time. Hopeless romantic right here, I don’t think I missed one romantic movie ever. Since I was a little girl, I have always dreamed about being married and living every day with the love of my life. I used to daydream about how our wedding would look like one day. I don’t mean just my wedding dress, I am talking about all the details - the flowers, decorations, family, dancing, laughing all together.

After my husband (Wes) proposed to me, I was so excited to start planning and make my wedding dreams reality. Planning our special day was one big, fun project for me. Actually two big projects, since we decided to have 2 weddings! All of my family lives in Europe and it would be impossible for them to come to Canada. So, there I was planning 2 weddings, in 2 different continents.

I really wanted to make it extra special with meaningful touches and little details. I was looking for someone who would create personal, meaningful and modern gifts for our special time. I didn’t want just generic boxes filled with pretty things and I didn’t feel comfortable ordering from huge gift box companies. I really struggled to find boxes which would be filled with details, have seamless presentation and would be better “than I could do myself”. I ended up creating our own gifts and decorations and got many beautiful comments from our guests and wedding professionals.

After our wedding Irealized how much time, effort and money it took me to make all the decorations and gifts for our wedding. Therefore I thought, if I could do it all over again, I would spend less time crafting and more time just having fun, pop some bubbly and enjoy the precious moments.

I decided to open an Etsy shop to see if other brides could use my help. It turns out that many brides needed it and loved it. Also their families loved engagement and wedding gifts I was making for couples in love. And that’s how MHW was created.
